 Bethany James, O.D.
I graduated from Norwin High School in North Huntington, Westmoreland County in 1993. I attended Seton Hill College in Greensburg from 1993 to 1997 and graduated with a bachelor of science in biology. I continued my education by attending PA College of Optometry in Philadelphia from 1997 to 2001, and graduated with a bachelor of science and doctor of optometry. I was selected to complete a residency program at the school and chose Cornea and Anterior Segment Diseases, LASIK and specialty contact lenses. This residency program provided me with further education in certain diseases affecting the anterior part of the eyes as well as allowing me to work 16 hours a week at a LASIK center providing patients with pre and post operative care. During this residency program, I was given the opportunity to have LASIK done on myself. The program lasted a year in which I graduated in July 2002 and began working for a large ophthalmology practice. I began working at Blvd Eyes in January 2004 and purchased the practice in August 2006. I achieved Board Certification in August 2011.
